CT coronary angiography for diagnosing vascular anomalies.

چکیده
CT scanning of the heart is becoming increasingly common in Norway. CT coronary angiography is a non-invasive method used to diagnose and chart arteriosclerotic disease. The method also lends itself to the detection of anatomical variants such as coronary anomalies. According to the literature, coronary artery anomalies occur in 0.2 – 1.2 % of the population (1). As a rule the anomalies have no clinical significance, but in very rare cases they may cause sudden cardiac death, for example amongst young athletes. Physical exertion in persons with certain types of coronary artery anomaly may induce dangerous arrhythmias and myocardial ischaemia. The CT image is a three-dimensional reconstruction of the heart and shows one of the variants that is described as having a «malignant» course. Here the right coronary artery (RCA) originates from the left valsalva sinus with an interarterial course between the aortic root (AO) and the outlet tract of the pul-

متن کاملDiagnostic value of Flash dual-source CT coronary artery imaging combined with dual-energy myocardial perfusion imaging for coronary heart disease
The present study aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of Flash dual-source CT coronary angiography (DS-CTA) combined with dual-energy myocardial perfusion imaging (DS-CTP) for coronary heart disease (CHD), as a single-stage examination. A total of 60 patients with CHD underwent DS-CT examination, as well as coronary angiography (CAG), as the reference standard. The patients were divided i...
متن کاملEffect of Heparin Administration during Coronary Angiography on Vascular or Peripheral Complications: A Single-Blind Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial
Background: Coronary angiography consists of the selective injection of contrast agents in coronary arteries. Optimal strategy for heparin administration during coronary angiography has yet to be determined. We assessed the effect of heparin administration during coronary angiography on vascular, hemorrhagic, and ischemic complications. Methods: Five hundred candiates for diagnostic coronary ang...

477 Vascular anomalies (birthmarks) are commonly encountered lesions and vary from tiny skin discolorations to large, devastating lesions requiring invasive interventions (Table 1).1 These lesions can involve any part of the body, but the lower extremities, particularly the foot and ankle regions, are commonly affected. A vascular anomaly in the foot or ankle usually requires treatment because ...
متن کاملUse of CT Angiogram in Interventions Involving Coronary Artery Anomalies: A Case Series
BACKGROUND Coronary artery anomalies are rare, accounting for about 0.3-1.3% of patients undergoing diagnostic coronary angiography. Interventions in these cases are still rare, and therefore pose technical challenges during intervention. CT Angiography provides a non-invasive means of assessment of coronary artery disease and also shows the anatomy of the coronary tree. This helps in knowing t...
